 Restaurants
(by David)

  • Au Petit Bonheur: 20, rue des Filatiers.

Cute little restaurant. French cuisine. The choice on the menu is quite limited, but chances from day to day. As often in a small restaurant, it's a good sign, as it means that the meals are cooked with fresh produces. The service is great. I think I can say it's my favorite restaurant in Toulouse.

  • La Cave au Cassoulet: 54, rue Peyrolières.

Located in an old cellar, this restaurant serves typical food from the area. It's worth it.

  • La Gouaille: 6, rue Joutx-Aigues.

The place doesn't look very attractive, but actually it's one of the best restaurants in Toulouse. The meals are quite varied (from baked camembert -which you must try if you don't know this- to curry chicken kebobs), I don't know anybody that was disappointed by the place. Oh, and it's also cheap.

  • Jour de Fête: 43, rue du Taur.
Cheap, quick, good. One of the best places in town for a quick but good lunch (salads, crepes, pies, etc.)

  • Le Rocher d'Olt: 16, rue de la Colombette.

Very interesting concept of a restaurant. The owners are a couple and one of the spouses is Greek, the other one from Aveyron (a rural area north of Toulouse), so they decided to have a Greek-Aveyron restaurants with dishes from both cuisines. So one can eat just Greek or just Aveyronnais or a mix of both.
In both case, the food is excellent.

  • Le Sherpa: 46, rue du Taur.

One of the most popular crepe restaurant in Toulouse. The food is always good as well as the atmosphere. Still, I find the whole thing just a little overrated, especially if you're a big eater on a budget.
