David just can't stay in the same place for too long. He spent all of his childhood (and even a little bit more) living in the same town, but he visited numerous countries all over Europe with his parents. Then, we he was 18 and after graduating from high school, he left his hometown, just like most kids, but since he seems to be moving all the time. He is a true semi-nomad; having lived in two countries and five cities in 10 years, and he's not ready to stop.

He recently moved back to France after seven years spent in the US where he was a graduate student in contemporary French literature and a French teacher. He currently tries to settle in Paris for a few years and to plan his next move as he's pretty much sure he won't stay in Paris too long. He enjoys reading, writing (he dreams about becoming a very famous writer), designing websites (including this one) and other various time wasting activities on the web. But he's not a bookworm/geek/whatever. On par with these activities he also loves being social and go to the movies, eat in good and cheap restaurants, go out clubbing, partying, etc.

He likes a lot of things:

  • Animals, every animals (but mostly the weird and/or dangerous ones). Since he first arrived in Florida, he became obsessed with alligators. Actually he wants one as a pet (along with a wolf pack, a ferret, some turtles, some exotic fish and a ant pile), unless he becomes an alligator wrestler someday.
  • The wildest nature, but also giant cities.
  • Girls (when he's single, he is uncontrollable).
  • Indie Rock, Brit Pop and similar music.
  • Culture and cultures
  • French and Vietnamese cuisines.
  • To live on the coast (thing he never really did actually (except on vacation)).
  • To travel... of course...

He doesn't like:

  • Morons and idiots: highly subjective terms in which he puts stupid people, racists, close minded people, intolerants, people who are (too) religious, spoon-fed spoiled brats, "princesses", etc, etc.
  • Most of American cuisine (but he recognizes that there are some really good meals, they're just really hard to find).
  • Shitty music: i.e. commercial music with no artistic dimension. All the Britneys and Celine Dions are on the frontline with most R&B and a big chunk of nowadays Hip-Hop.
  • And a bunch of other things, but not that many actually.
