(by David)

As you might already know (or not) the film "Paris, Je t'Aime" was recently released in France (and soon in the US, even though no date has been set yet). It's not exactly one movie, but 18 short movies all based on love and Paris (what else?). Another interesting approach to the film is that all movies are based on a geographical area of Paris, not always (rarely indeed) a famous one for non-Parisians.

This section tries to collect all the locations if you feel like seeing them first hand.
As long as the DVD is not released it might be hard to find all the locations, but luckily I happen to know one of the producers who will certainly help me with that.

You'll also notice that the short films are listed in the order of the arrondissement (Paris' subdivision) where they're located and not in the order they are shown. This is a totally arbitrary (and somewhat practical) decision from my part.

("Paris, je t'aime" Locations on Google Earth)

Tuileries
(1st Arrondissement)

The film made by the Coen Brothers includes some of their very unique humor, including the location itself as the only place of Paris on can see in it is the subway station "Tuileries" on line 1. However, you must be aware that the actual station used for the shooting, is not the Tuileries station (pic coming soon) but in the "studio station" near Porte des Lilas, where pretty much all metro station scenes in pretty much every movie are shot (Amelie's metro station scenes were shot there too for example). So one can say, that this movie was the only one that was not actually shot in the arrondissement where it takes place.

Place des Victoires
(2nd Arrondissement)

It is not clear where Juliette Binoche's character exactly lives (maybe on the Place des Victoires itself, I'll need to double-check), but the place where she meets the "cowboy" (Willem Dafoe) definitely is the Place des Petits-Pères, in front of the Notre-Dame des Victoires church.

The Place des Victoires

(there won't be any picture of Place des Petits-Peres for a while as there is construction on the site, so be patient.)

Quartier des Enfants Rouges
(3rd Arrondissement)

I don't know any of the locations in this film, so I shall inquiry much further later. Most of the film takes place in an apartment though.
(the funny thing is that I almost moved in this area when I arrived in Paris)

Le Marais
(4th Arrondissement)

Most of the film takes place indoors in a place that will be hard to locate. However a few outdoors places are shown, including Rue des Rosiers et Place des Vosges.
(more on this one later too)

Quais de Seine
(5th Arrondissement)

This film shows quite unusual parts of the 5th arrondissement (well, it's more or less the point of most of these films really) as it starts on the Seine banks, more precisely on the east part of the Jardin Tino Rossi and ends in front of the Grande Mosquée de Paris (Paris Great Mosque) at the corners of Rue Geoffroy-St-Hilaire and Rue Daubenton. The closing shot is located at the entrance of the Jardin des Plantes, on the other side of the street from the Mosque.

Quartier Latin
(6th Arrondissement)

This film takes place in the Rue de Médicis, where Gena Rowlands gets off the taxi and in the Café le Rostand (6, Place Edmond Rostand at the end of the Rue de Médicis), where the rest of the action takes place.

Tour Eiffel
(7th Arrondissement)

I'm not too sure yet of the locations of this film (except for the Champ de Mars of course).

Quartier de la Madeleine
(8th Arrondissement)

The whole film takes place on one spot. At the corner of Rue du Rocher and Rue Portalis. This place is quite unique in the 8th arrondissement as the two streets are on two different levels and thus stairs connect the two streets (as you can see in the film).

Pigalle
(9th Arrondissement)

More on this one later.

Faubourg-St-Denis
(10th Arrondissement)

If you saw this film, you know it's the one that has the most locations even if it doesn't seem like it. Luckily it's also my neighborhood, so it shouldn't be too hard to list all the locations.

Bastille
(11th/12th Arrondissement)

The opening scene takes place in the Brasserie du Square Trousseau, located on 1 rue Antoine Vollon in the 12th.

Porte de Choisy
(13th Arrondissement)

14th Arrondissement

Loin du 16e
(16th Arrondissement and suburbs)

Parc Monceau
(17th Arrondissement)

Montmartre
(18th Arrondissement)

Place des Fêtes
(19th Arrondissement)

Most of the film takes place on one spot, the "pyramid" at the center of the plaza.
I couldn't locate the location of the flashback, I assume it's in an underground parking lot under the plaza.

Père Lachaise
(20th Arrondissement)

The film takes place in the Père Lachaise cemetery, mostly by Oscar Wilde's tomb.
The final scene is by the main entrance.
I couldn't exactly locate/remember the other scenes.
