The Smallest Building in Paris:
39, rue du Château-d'Eau (10th
- Mº Château-d'Eau)
I don't really know what else to say about it, the name is quite
explanatory. It's not a hot tourist spot. It's even unknown by the
huge majority of Parisians. And it is totally unimpressive, except
maybe by its narrowness (barely wider than the door). It's just the
smallest building in Paris.
Famous People Homes
(by

(here will only be listed famous
people's houses and apartments from the past, in order to respect the
privacy of people that are alive and well, I'm not the Paparazzi kind)
-
Ernest Hemingway's Apartment:
74, rue du Cardinal-Lemoine (5th -
Mº Cardinal-Lemoine)
The most famous of the two apartments where Hemingway lived during his
time in Paris.
He also lived on 113, rue Notre-Dame-des-Champs (6th - Mº Vavin,
Raspail or Port-Royal (RER), but the building does not exist anymore.
Also check the "Hemingway's
Paris" section of the site.
-
François Mitterrand's House:
22, rue de Bièvre (5th - Mº
Maubert-Mutualité)
This is the place where former French President
François Mitterrand lived most of his Paris life,
including the time he was in office. There's not much to see except
for a big massive gate.
-
Jim Morrison's Apartment: 17,
rue Beautreillis (4th - Mº
Bastille)
Jim Morrison stayed in an apartment on the third floor of this
building with Pamela Courson from March 11th, 1971 until his death on
July, 3rd of the same year. This is in this apartment that he was
found dead (the place of his actual death being subject of debate).
