Shopping
(by
David, Molloy)
There are zillions of
places to shop in Paris at all prices. Here we're going to list only
our favorites as well as unusual stores you can find.
Bookstores
- Shakespeare and Company:
37, rue de la Bûcherie (5th
- Mº St-Michel)
This bookstore that sells mostly books written in English (but not only)
is one of the most amazing places in Paris. The walls of what used to be
an apartment are literally covered with books from top to bottom, and
the place is designed in such a way that one could almost get lost in
it. At to this a few pieces of furniture here and there (including beds
and couches to read) and you'll get a general idea.

Fine Wines & Spirits
- Gastronom: 26, bis boulevard Diderot
(12th - Mº
Gare de Lyon)
In this Russian grocery store, you'll find some of the best vodka (Altaï, Moskow Standard,
etc.) for only about
15 Euros a bottle.
M.
- Kousmichoff: 75, avenue Niel
(17th - Mº
Pereire)
This wholesaler in tea, also sells very good homemade vodka for about 8
Euros a bottle! Unfortunately supplying is irregular.

Miscellaneous
- Aurouze Chimie:
8,
rue des Halles (1st - Mº Châtelet)
France is also famous for its shop windows right?
So, just check this one out. I won't tell you why. If you're in Paris,
just go and check it out.
D.
- Deyrolle: 46 rue du Bac
(7th - Mº Rue-du-Bac)
If you need to buy or rent a stuffed animal, this is the place to go.
Why would you do such a thing? What do you mean? Everybody needs a
stuffed animal at some point in their life. Right? Right? ;-)
